Writing a bio... this is always the most challenging part... how do I tell you who I am at my very depths through these couple paragraphs? Well you may not feel like you know me completely but hopefully you can see if only a glimpse of who I am. To get the small talk out of the way... I was raised and born in the crab state... MD. (-:

I love to travel, sing, help people with relationship issues and love eating chocolate truffles…hazelnut to be exact. I love my family and friends and love more then anything to be outside in God’s creation and love Him overall! On the deeper end... I have always known that music was going to be a big part of my life. Since age five, I have been performing, writing and singing. I started piano at age 10 and had professional voice training for 12 years. But singing, songwriting and music has always come easy to me... we all have a piece of God and that is what piece he choose to give me... now when it comes to math or science you can forget it!! I picked up guitar a few years back and that has widened my horizons musically. This has helped me to be able to play shows solo, but I play with a band as well for some venues. My music has grown in to it’s own style now and has taken a folk/jazz sound with some weird in it as well.(-: I have had inspirations such as Jewel (which I am often compared to), Tori Amos (picked up the weird from her) (-: she is so talented!, Sara Mclachlan... Rebbecca St. James and Sara Groves. When I am singing for people, I feel at home…It’s a strange yet comfortable feeling all at once...

More than the performing, I love the people! I love relating to them and encouraging them and being a vessel that God could shine his light through their hearts. I have already met so many wonderful people, who have truly blessed me as well. I have been through many relationships in my past and done them the world’s way, but the years the locust stole have been returned to me. It’s always amazes me how God can use our past mistakes and turn them into good. Only He can do that! My heart is for singles, youth and girls especially. I hope that through them hearing my past pain and wounds, they will be encouraged to turn around and do things differently. It’s so easy today to just “go with the flow”, but like I am sure you have heard, my motto is to “go against the flow”. I am blessed with the insight I have received on relationships and hope to encourage others in that. There is so much pain in the world... but there is so much hope and I hope that through my frail breath I can point them to God’s hope. Right now, besides touring, I am involved in New Life for Girls which is a home for woman who have been through drug, alcohol abuse and prostitution. We hang out and play music... I love those girls! I am also a small group leader for the senior high girls at my church. Those girls have also been such a blessing to me. They have so much ahead of them! Above all, I have learned that this life is not about what we do but who we are. Of course it’s a daily journey and I am learning something new every day. God is shaping each of us and the people and relationships around us are far more important than our accomplishments. But I am thankful for every opportunity God gives me to use the gifts he has given me, I am unworthy, but oh so grateful! “So we make it our goal to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.” 2 Corinthians 5:9

Some Cool Opprotunities!

  • In 2005 Kim’s songs Familiar Places and Whisper were played twice on Z-104 radio. Jenny Chase said “ Kim Liberto has a sweet unique voice that somewhat sounds like our beloved Jewel..we hope to hear a lot more from this new local artist.” Through that opportunity Kim got to play some benefit concerts in the area. One was for the Starlight Star bright Children’s Foundation and Hurricane relief as well. This was a blessing for Kim to have her music about the Lord to be aired on secular radio!!
  • Kim held a Christmas concert event at the Carroll Art Center that packed house despite the snowy weather! It was a fundraiser for New Life for Girls. It was a God thing! New Life is a girls home in Westminster, MD that helps young woman get back on their feet after drug, alcohol or prostitution. Kim has gotten to know the girls at New Life well.
  • Kim had a opportunity in 2006 to have Natalie Grant listen to her demo.
  • She also met a rep from RCA records/Provident who took Kim’s demo on the inside and offered to take a look at it just recently.
  • Kim is also friends with Keith Moore from Indieheaven and played this past summer an outside concert even with other Indieheaven bands.
  • Kim has had many opportunities this year to reach out to the community through worship, and music to offer encouragement and hope to those who need it.
  • Kim has also gotten to meet some really awesome local artists and gotten to play shows with them such as Ashes Remain, ClearVeiw, Over Taken, Anapra, Sum of One, Distorted Penguins, HotSpur, Charlene Ava and many others.
Song List

I perform originals as you heard on the sample demo and covers, plus many others that are not on the demo. I also mix in covers by artists such as Jewel, Tori Amos, Sarah Mclachlan, Nora Jones, Diana Krall, Bethany Dillion, Sara Groves just to name a few. Some places have requested certain songs and I am fine with playing songs upon request as well.
